Usage of Surveillance Cameras at Open Houses
In this video Deirdre P Brown answers the question of whether surveillance cameras can be used at open houses.
This is Deirdre Brown your settlement agent serving DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Today I'm going to address a question that was sent to me via my website close with dee dot com. A listing agent is holding an open house and what's to know if he needs to turn off the audio and video surveillance in the home.
The answer is yes or no. In this area DC, Maryland and Virginia it is okay to be recorded via video but you cannot record someone via audio unless you they have given prior written consent. Just posting a notice giving them notice that there's audio being taped is not good enough. They must have given prior written consent you.
